Most open data is incomplete or has traps in it. Municipal datasets can report lengths at twice their real value; half the shops can be missing from a map database. An analysis built without knowing this looks clean and returns the wrong answer.
Where the threshold sits, which proxy variable to use, straight-line distance or the real road network. These decisions change the result completely and have nothing to do with writing code.
Finishing the analysis is not the end. The result has to become something you can defend in front of a board. That is the part we actually do.
